Corrán Tuathail is the highest mountain in Ireland and stands at a majestic 1039 metres. It can be climbed in a day and gives a magnificent view over McGillicuddy's Reeks, the expanse of Dingle Bay, the Iveragh and Dingle peninsulas, the Shannon river and the Atlantic. The foot of the mountain is about 15 miles from Killarney in the direction of Glencar.
It can also be lethal and has claimed many lives. Eight climbers have died in those mountains since mid-December 2001.
